Introduction
Remedy IT - Your partner for Interoperable Open Architecture (IOA)
IOA
Remedy IT is your partner in delivering an Interoperable Open Architecture (IOA) based on Open Standards. IOA provides the security that your various (sub)systems can be integrated easily. This leads to a reduction in development costs due to faster development and integration.
An Interoperable Open Architecture (IOA) adds certified interoperability based on compliance with globally accepted Open Standards. This provides you the security that your (sub)systems will integrate 'out-of-the-box'.
Systems based on Open Architecture are relatively common nowadays. But most of these Open Architectures are 'Open' only when you buy all (sub)system parts from one vendor. Integrating system parts from different vendors gets you into trouble as the interoperability between vendors is not certified.
Our approach to IOA
Our IOA approach is based on a Component Based Architecture (CBA) which is supported by Model Driven Development (MDD). Component Based Architecture (CBA) provides the means for more flexibility in the development and deployment (configuration) of your systems. Coupled with certified interoperability it also allows you to more easily cut down on development time and/or costs by integrating third party (possibly Commercial Of The Shelf, COTS) components. A set of modern modeling tools complements this development approach. Model Driven Development (MDD)provides capabilities for the support of your design, configuration and planning (deployment) activities.
Our implementation of IOA
For the implementation of our IOA approach leverages the open standards CORBA Component Model (CCM) as the component technology for the implementation, CORBA for the integration of the components and request-response information exchange and DDS through DDS4CCM for publish-subscribe and data information exchange.
Our future vision for IOA
The architecture is already open for integration of other middleware standards. Future revisions will remove the CORBA dependency and deliver a Common Component Model as the basis of our IOA approach.
